reader saraM pointed me in the direction of the gorgeous organic stylings of uk ceramicist claire palastanga. the delicate porcelain forms are finely finished, and enhanced with the contrasting addition of silver of gold leaf details. claire is inspired by nature and has long been fascinated by spikey forms with sensitive centers, such as the fruit from the horse chestnut tree.

see more of claire’s beautiful collection and contact her right here.

looking through the postcard section in resale shops is one of me and my husband’s favorite pastimes. we peep at the penmanship and wonder what state of mind the senders were in when they sent their correspondence, as well as the receivers. that is part of the reason why i am drawn to this small scale mixed media art from etsy seller lisaur, made from recycled postcards and collaged on the written sides.

the rich color combinations only serve as a compliment to the mysterious torn stories told on their papers.
see lisa’s full collection here.

i am enjoying the details of this lola chaise: the tufted upholstery with versatile color palette, the retro modern sensibility and the knee notch, for our comfort.

find them in single and double options at chiasso, and be sure to check out their blog too for other cool things.

i love the simple ideas that give great impact in a room, so these glo canvases from london-based designer chris duffy intrigue me, especially because you can provide your own images to create a truly one of a kind lighting fixture.

so, what image would you have hanging from the ceiling? because you could hang one up there. and please don’t say farrah fawcett in that swimsuit.
the canvases are offered in small (35.4″ square) and large (55″ x 35.4″), as well as custom sizes. check them out at generate.

the moma shop is offering some exclusive, lovely and odd products for their destination japan limited edition shopping adventure, the highlights of which include these fun chat plates and this cute apple jar.

if i had a precocious child (or husband) who wouldn’t eat vegetables i think some persuasive messages might be spelled out in peas on those plates.
see it all right here.
via nobody — i know this is circulating around the blogosphere right now but believe it or not, i found it all by myself!

although brooklyn’s cake is comprised of four industrial designers who work in a variety of materials, my eye naturally goes to their retro modern ceramic collection, and let me tell you i am liking it a lot.

the colors and shape of those cups are really perking me up too.
check them out at the supermarket and also see their website for more cool products.

i am home now from my very restorative birthday trip, so bear with me while i ease back into the world of blogging with some shopping posts. since i’m slightly bamboozled and spacey from the long plane ride, this sleep mask would be perfect right about now.

it’s $11.99 and it’s at perpetual kid.
